Islamabad (Manend news)\u00a0 Sardar Akhtar Mengal, chief of his faction of the Balochistan National Party (BNP-M), announced on Wednesday an end to his party\u2019s 20-day-long sit-in at the Lakpass area of Mastung district against the arrest of Baloch activists, adding that they would launch a public outreach movement instead.<\/p>\n
The BNP-M had\u00a0begun<\/a>\u00a0a \u201clong march\u201d from Wadh to Quetta on March 28 to protest the arrests of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders and activists, including\u00a0Mahrang Baloch<\/a>\u00a0and Sammi Deen Baloch, as well as a\u00a0crackdown<\/a>\u00a0on their sit-in in Quetta. Sammi was\u00a0released<\/a>\u00a0on April 1.<\/p>\n Earlier this month, Mengal had\u00a0anno\u00adu\u00adnced<\/a>\u00a0that the party would march on Quetta on April 6 \u2014 after three rounds of\u00a0negotiations<\/a>\u00a0had failed to make any progress \u2014 but was\u00a0kept at bay<\/a>\u00a0by the government.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
